Silent as an OWL, I wish I could fly.
Species: Wolf
Name: Owl
Gender: Male
Age: 5 years
Eyes: Owl’s eyes are a sharp yellow, with a vibrant orange rim fading into the yellow core. His eyes are very intimidating, but rather than dominance they remain calm and hold only wisdom. When Owl lurks in the shadows at night, his eyes appear a dark black, as if promoting his ghostly presence.
Appearance: Owl, much like any other average grey wolf, has creamy white under fur with black, grey and silver streaking and blotching his back. On his nose and ears is a faint streak of reddish, and the dark grays of his back wrap around his neck. His face bears a white mask, breaking at the neck and then continuing at his chest, consuming his legs and underbelly with creamy white. His tail, however, contrasts with his ordinary fur, being a gorgeous silver color from the middle down, streaked with accenting black and whites.
Markings: Owl’s only out-of-the-ordinary marking is his silver tail. His parents didn’t know where the sudden silver coloring came from at first, but they finally concluded that it came from the mother’s grandfather, who was a magnificent silver wolf.
(Village / Home): None (Wanders from area to area)
(Family): Mother:
Social Status: Owl usually tries to keep to himself, only really showing his true inner-puppy with his siblings. He tries to avoid contact with any others, but when he does he comes off very strong and intimidating before bonding.
Strengths / Gifts: Owl is a very skillful hunter, courtesy of his silent paws. Due to his slightly older age as well and extreme maturity, Owl is very wise.
Weaknesses: Owl is extremely cautious and, when it comes to his siblings, protective. He’s slowly receding into a world of isolation, too cautious to take the risk of friendship.
Gift: Biased-Future
Personality: Owl got his name not only for his silent hunting skills but also for his intimidating yet isolated, lonely lifestyle. He has issues when it comes to socialization, and rarely tries because of it. Behind his gruff, solitary attitude, Owl really just has a major fear of rejection. At heart, he’s still a pup, he just can’t find a way to express it.
History: Owl’s life from birth was fairly average. Once he reached two years and his parents were breeding again, he decided to stay behind and bid his farewells to his littermates. Their pack remained in high mountains where they were safe from human activity – for the meantime. It was a small pack – just his parents and his mother’s sister and her mate, two breeding pairs. His litter was his parents’ first, and having birthed only three, the other two leaving was no surprise. Soon his mother gave birth to Owl’s new siblings, this time bearing only one live pup and three stillborns. The loss was a major setback and an even bigger heart break for the family, but as the pup grew in harsh climates, they decided it was for the best. Owl did everything he could to help his family, and when his aunt and uncle’s litter died in their first winter, he realized how bad the terrain they thrived in was. It was much too cold for newborn pups, so eventually he urged the family to go down into the forest.
After much encouraging, it was agreed, and his younger brother, Phoenix, grew strong and healthy. The family decided to lay low for a while and adjust to the area, so until Phoenix reached his second year they did not breed. Phoenix decided to stay with the pack, and so again they bred. Owl’s aunt and uncle birthed a decent-sized litter of five pups and, after a long discussion; they departed from the pack, leaving Owl and his brother to help their parents with the new arrivals. For once, the breeding pair a a steady amount of four.
And then came open season. Hundreds of hunter were lurking the forest, and one pup had already died from starvation, since none of the adults could risk hunting in a group and small prey was scarce. Phoenix, having had enough of the hunger and worry, left to find as much food as he could, hunters or not. Owl went after him, already over-protective, and little did the two know that they were being followed by an unlikely predator – their young and daring sister.
After three hours, Phoenix and Owl finally noticed the small pup and, in desperation, rushed back home to bring her to safety. When they got there, all the found was the disgusting innards of their parents and the young pups, found, killed and skinned by the hunters. Horrified, the three left the area and marked it as forbidden for their own mental health and started on their own.
Pack Rank: Leader of a loner band (he simply makes decisions for his two siblings).
