((This is going to be boring post- Fifth attempt at starting this one thread, mind you.)) [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz64/BLoobloo72/XenoMiddle.png]
The metallic scent of blood made the humid air even more musty as Xeno made his way through the border between Astran and Akastran territories. Two of his lesser ranking packmates stalked behind him- each wary of every sound, sight and smell.
"Sir, would your brother mind if we... had a snack?" one called. Xeno grinned as a memory briefly made it's way through his mind.
"Unless you wish to die so young, I recommend you hold your tongue, This is not our home nor land, As you can tell by the lack of bloodied sand."
|
He replied in dry humor. Xeno was aware- through his last... family reunion... that his brother was not amused by intruding kills in his territory; even if they were brought upon as gifts. A low snicker slithered passed the dark wolf's lips and he suppressed the urge to burst into a cackle as to not alert the Akastrian guards.
However the Akastrians were sharp in their senses and had already caught on to the Astrans' filthy scents. Probably gone off to report them to the Alpha. Xeno grinned "Tattletales always take away the fun..."Though despite his assumptions, he stopped abruptly and slowly let out a crackling howl, raising his head along with the volume. His two comrads joined in not a moment later and they announced their arrival."Now," the Astran Alpha spoke, "We wait." ((OOC: Here Anita! To make up for not having August muse, I made you a table for Xeno C: I worked hard on it, so I hope you like! By the way, feel free to delete this message after reading it. Love ya! <3333))

And yes, yes, I know that unlike my traditional "end the beginning post with the thread's title" trend, I made a boring ending. Deal with it. D:< ))

An ashen white, muscular figure burdened his four sturdy paws as they carried him at their quickest, his mind set to tunnel vision. Not a moment ago, he was alerted that Xeno, the Astran alpha, had entered the territory with two accomplices. He rushed his feet, for the last time his brother had come for a visit, one of his scouts, unaware of who the stranger wolf was, wound up heavily injured and hardly recovered from his deathbed.
Suddenly, the behemoth white wolf stopped and raised his furry head to the air, ear perked at the call of three monstrous wolves. He growled softly and turned to see if his own comrade was following. He had brought along with him the largest wolf in his pack aside from him who, in reality, was young and klutzy and had no intention of fighting. But he could put on one hell of a frightening face and scare of all but the most loyal wolves. But as Atila new, the Astran were very masochistic creatures, and the majority was unfamiliar with fear – only hunger.
However, several Akastrians has decided to tag along, hiding and sneaking amongst the rocks with the clever slyness they had trained for months to achieve. As Atila had not ordered any to stay, a hefty amount had gathered. He made sure to flash his teeth at any who dared to trot in front of him, as dominance was imperative in such a lethal situation.
Atila stopped and flagged his tail, signaling the followers, with the exception of his original comrade, to halt and wait. He and the second massive wolf then continued over the small mound of rocks that stood between him and his polar opposite.
”Brother… what has provoked you to visit so unexpectedly?” He said in an almost scolding tone, making his way down the rocky decent without any trouble, and confidently trotting straight towards his brother, breaking the common comfort zone barrier. In the back of his mind, there was slight worry that the wolf who trusted to follow would show a flicker of fear, despite his training, which would undoubtedly instantly set off either Xeno of one of his comrades.
”I suspect you’re here on urgent terms, if you felt the need to come this far.” Honey gold against blood red, Atila stared deep into his brother’s eyes, their extraordinary bond usually allowing him to see right into his brother’s intentful mind. But this time, Xeno had, metaphorically, dropped a barrier, meaning this was a matter that needed to be discussed, not read. So all he could do was wait.

Xeno laughed at his brother's need to lead a dozen other Akastrans to the meet. Atila stopped his brave march with a signal and walked close, bringing with him one very large individual who seemed to be trying hard to fight off the urge to look Xeno in the eyes.
The dark wolf grinned ear-to-ear and tilted his head at the comrade, but got no reaction other than a small twitch. He gave it up with a chuckle and looked up towards his crane of a brother.
"Brother... what has provoked you to visit so unexpectedly?" The deep voice asked. It seemed almost as if he was commanding an answer, and Xeno smirked at the subconcious habit.
As his brother edged closer still, Xeno decided to play the game and take a step forward as well, knowing Atila's dominance would probably take small note of it.
"Ah, my dear big brother, I see you grow even now; but why bring with you this herd of cow?" He teased the potential army of food for his comrades. But Xeno was no fool, and knew very well his own army of three wouldn't do against so many. Knowing Atila, there would probably be many other large wolves, probably hiding and masking their scent under dirt, bushes, and brambles.
Xeno snorted, but tuned his ears as Atila spoke once more. ”I suspect you’re here on urgent terms, if you felt the need to come this far.” He nodded, and despite the seriousness of the topic they were about to discuss, Xeno kept his grin. He raised his head to meet eyes with his much larger brother and hid his intentions through a grinning mask. For Xeno's grand plan, it required for Atila to only hear what he needed to hear, and see what he needed to see...
The skinny black wolf flexed a little and cracked his neck, doing so to casually glance at two of his comrades and signaling them with a flick of his ear. They both promptly sat down and Xeno began to walk a little past Atila, not looking back as he leapt up a rock.
"Atila, we must go somewhere to speak, Preferably a private mountain peak, The mouth of Akastran isn't a good place, For I have a plan that requires no other trace."
He eyed the wolf beside Atila with a suspicious look, no longer grinning as he nodded to his own wolven brothers to stay. The two brown and black wolves remained seated and set to meerly glaring hungrily at the Akastrans behind their leader. Xeno looked at Atila, the smirk slowly making it's way to his features once more.

[/IMG]

[atrb=background,http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz64/BLoobloo72/AtilaMiddle.png] Atila scoffed at his brother’s sadistically teasing words as he referred to his pack. He glared at his brother scornfully.
”They may come and go as they please, Xeno, but unlike your usual…. Victims, they’ve been taught predicate to use in your presence. His words held a secret warning as to not get any ideas. As close as he was to his brother, the death of a pack-mate would not hold well with Atila.
Atila’s head followed his brother’s movements as he whisked past, eyes never leaving the black form. He turned to follow his brother, flashing a wary glance at the seated comrades Xeno brought along.”Atila, we must go somewhere to speak, Preferably a private mountain peak, The mouth of Akastran isn’t a good place, For I have a plan that requires no other trace.” Atila smirked in his mind at his brother’s rhyming habit, but didn’t dare physically show his pleasure.”I agree, Xeno, I know the place. But allow me to take the lead,” Atila murmured, knowing full well the havoc Xeno would create, running about the territory. Atila knew these mountains in and out, and was thus aware of the exact cliff that’d give them the utmost privacy. As they were leaving, Atila shot a glance at a small female, who appeared much younger than she was, which was more than enough to signal her to approach and observe the two Astran wolves.
~◕☨◔ ~
Alas, the two polar opposites breached a cave in the depths of Akastran territory, far from the reaches of any foreign wolf. Many members of the pack had not yet discovered the cove Atila had led his brother to, as you would have to be looking to come across it.”Xeno, what is this about? I don’t expect you to understand, but it makes things rather… hectic when you just show up. This is about the… rumors, is it?” Atila stared deep into his brother’s dark features, trying to see past his maniacal grin. Whatever his issue was, it was certainly important.

"I agree, Xeno, I know the place. but allow me to take the lead." Xeno respectively stopped in his tracks and followed after his older brother. The black male would often misstep or jump upon loose rocks, cackling to himself as he fell behind with cuts and scraps, but quickly regained his pace by taking risky leaps. True to himself, Xeno climbed like a madman.

”Xeno, what is this about? I don’t expect you to understand, but it makes things rather… hectic when you just show up." At this, the ebony beast smirked toothly.
Xeno grinned as Atila mentioned the many rumours spreading like a disease throughout the lands. He nodded in response to the question however, and spoke,
"Ah, how words act like pests, but no matter, my plan still rests," he said, beginning to pace thoughtfully.
The wolf's black tail began to sway with slight provocation as he ran his semi-split tongue over the roof of his mouth. "Atila," he tested and stopped infront of his brother.
"I have a plan that requires your pack, your leadership, and your power. A plan that inculdes both acts- sweets, and sour." An eerie smile worked it's way onto Xeno's features and he came closer.
"The Sukri have been naughty, brother. They plan to alliance with the Runedar- even the Saltren. They want your territory," Xeno's silver-slick voice whispered. He turned to look at the rocks on the ground with random interest, tilting his head nearly upside down to get a better look, knowing this was probably murdering his brother's patience.
Though, Xeno admitted, it would sound suspicious to be so caring of his brother. "You may be wondering what this has to do with me, and brother, understand that to get to your terre, they have to get through mine. The Sukri, Runedar, and Saltren. We could never beat them- even together." he stated simply, uncaring of whatever flame he might ignite within Atila's ego. "Do you understand what has to be done... general?" Xeno grinned and flashed his teeth hungrily.
"We have to break them apart before they come together."

Atila flicked his tail in unamusement, a frown painted on his solid features. Xeno grinned, teasing his brother's patience until alas he showed some leinience, rewarding Atila's questions with a nod.
"Ah, how words act like pests, but no matter, my plan still rests." The ashen white brute followed his brother's every movement, still as stone. His golden orbs were keen on Xeno's own crimson spheres, knowing through years of brotehrly bonds that those eyes were key. He stared right into them as the black wolf stopped in front of him and uttered his name."I have a plan that requires your pack, your leadership, and your power. A plan tat includes both acts - sweets, and sour." Atila titled his head by such a small degree that only his brother would be able to identify the movement as that of questioning. However, on the inside, Atila was burning with eagerness, yearning to know exactly what Xeno wanted. But overpowering his curiosity was the caged animal inside of him, a beast that yearned for flesh and blood, Atila's deep, dark secret."The Sukri have been naughty, brother. They plan to alliance with the Runedar - even the Saltren. They want your territory." A flicker of rage startled within Atila's eyes, causing him to twitch, his dominance flaring with a need to battle. Years of alphaship had done Atila's anger management issues no good. True to the Akastran Alpha's reputation, Xeno's procrastinatino was causing the brute's patience to wear thin. A low growl grumbled deep within his throat, alerting Xeno to get on with it."You may be wondering what this has to do with me, and brother, understand that to get to your terre, they have to get through mine. The Sukri, Runedar and Saltren. We could never beat them - even together. Do you understand what has to be done... general?
We have to break them apart before they come together." Atila's black lips twitched and hot breath rushed from his nostrils at his brother's careless comment. But despite his ego, Atila knew very well that the sly black wolf was right. No matter how had-trained or well-coordinated the packs were, even combined, they're never win a full-out battle with the three opposing packs. He knew what manuever was to be chosen - Xeno, in his own, coniving way, would have probably already formulated or began formulating a plan, far too well-thought-out for Atila to have ever iamgined, and atila would wait and train his troops to the extreme until the notorious black beast beckoned his pack to battle.
The only question now, was just how terrible Xeno's plan was and more importantly, just how willing Atila was to be so terrible. Only time would tell.

Xeno could scarcely sense the inner turmoil taking place between Atila's emotions and thoughts. The night-coated male hid the grin threatening to grow at the discovery and instead lowered his head and stalked around his brother. The larger brute kept eying him and calculating the words he spoke, as if there was a hidden meaning behind them, and true to it, there was. But Xeno wasn't going to let him know that just yet.
Only when he was sure he had Atila following on his tongue did he muse up how to deliver his plan. Black legs began to carry its weight around the white wolf, creating a circle like a shark; something he often did while thinking or analyzing. He had to be precise, but not too detailed in the way he told of his musing. He could speak without rhyme, but it was awkward in his nature and would take away the intimacy of his words. No, Xeno had to sugarcoat his motive rather than hide it with briskness. He had to be persuasive and cunning...
"Well," his half-split tongue clicked interestingly. Ears slowly rising along with a foreleg, he carelessly pivoted in his march around Atila, and instead stopped to face him, eye to eye.
"Brother, I assume you know Cysro's land, From corner to corner, from water to sand, And you know the Sukri, un-trusting of others, What if we take their trust, make a bond like a brother's."
Xeno's burning, blood-shot eyes leered from his kin to his own snout, running his tongue over the scar that littered the side of his jaw. The beast's seductive tongue matched the flash in his eyes, sadistic and dark, but tempting and knowing.
"I propose we send a soul to go, Hide his identity and befriend those oafs, Someone to snoop around; learn of their secrets, Catch their traitors, make them assets,
Think of it, brother, how much we could do, The destruction we can make, the benefits for you."

”Ah, how words act like pests, but no matter, my plan still rests…”
Atila’s tail flicked as Xeno began to pace, the casual frown embedded on his face deepening as the wolf tested his patience. He glared at his brother when he stopped in front of him, their eye contact held with such intensity that would be explain as nothing but hate.”Atila, I have a plan that requires your pack, your leadership, and your power. A plan that includes both acts – sweets, and sour.” The smile that cracked his lips widened, and Atila winced slightly, jerking his head into a small tilt. He struggled to calculate his brother’s words into a simpler equation, desperate to understand their meaning.”The Sukri have been naughty, brother. They plan to alliance with the Runedar – even the Saltren. They want your territory.” The manipulative sincerity of his brother’s tone smoldered the calm inside of Atila. His brother’s exterior knowledge of their enemy’s intent set him on edge, competitive dominance flaring about his mind.
It took not a moment for Atila to decide his actions. He alas realized his brother’s hidden question, and Atila was more than willing. If it was a fight the Sukri wanted, they wouldn’t get just that. No, no, they’d get far more than that. A true battle, the type fought by teeth and claw, with victory the ultimate reward and only blood and soil left for the failures.”You may be wondering what this has to do with me, and brother, understand that to get to your terre, they have to get through mine. The Sukri, Runedar, and Saltren. We could never beat them – even together.” Atila was grateful for Xeno to answer his biggest question before too much thinking had to be done, but he did not at all appreciate the blow to his ego. Though his lips twitched into a momentary curl, the calmed himself and decided his brother was right. Not only would they be out-numbered, but he had known the Sukri to be sly, cheating dogs who, when confronted with a challenge, always found a way around it.”Do you understand what has to be done… general?” Xeno flashed his fangs in the type of grin that never failed to express his malicious intents. It was the sort that beamed with such brilliant knowledge that Atila couldn’t help but smirk ever so slightly.”We have to break them apart before they come together.” The words slithered off his tongue with stronger vulgarity than that of a snake, venom dripping off each emphasized articulation.
All the time, Atila realized, he hadn’t uttered a word of agreement or otherwise. He was sure his brother, though practically his polar opposite, completely understood to what extent Atila approved.
He parted his lips slightly, inhaling as if to speak, but then hesitating. All the words he could find felt either unpleasant or unnecessary. He decided there was no need to agree, and as it was Xeno, his plot had already been thought out to the extent that there was no additional aid needed. There was only one thing left to mention.”There’s someone I’d like you to meet.” [/blockquote][/blockquote]
