Rinza Scarlett sat silent on the edge of the clearing, watching the other pack members. With the Alpha currently abroad, they squabbled amoungst themselves and fought. Everyone seemed more unpleasant than usual, insecure without their leader. Rinza merely watched. If two fighting wolves came too close, she would snarl and scoot away. Her eyes burned through their skulls with contempt for them. She moved away, and scavenged through the nearby bone pile.
She found a dry bone with a scant amount of fat and meat on it. She settled down in a dusty place away from the fighting to gnaw off what little nourishment was left on the bone. Suddenly a much bigger dark grey male came up and looked down on her growling and showing his teeth.
"Give me that!" He demanded. Rinza snarled back, but the big male bit her and threw her to the side. He claimed the bone, and trotted away. She sat up and stared after him with a scowl on her face. She saw him go into the crowd. Wolves were scattered all around The Cracked Stone making a crowd. She went the long way around her fellow wolves, over to the nearby water and took a drink.
"You again," She heard. She turned and there was the dark grey male again, her bone still in his jaws. He dropped it.
"You were stalking me weren't you? Waiting until you could catch me off guard. I'll teach you to try attacking me . . ."
He leapt on her and rolled her into a submissive position. He went to grab her neck, but she was faster. She snapped in a flashing of her bright white fangs, and sunk her teeth into the soft skin just under his lower jaw. It would not kill him, or suffocate him, but it would be extremely painful. He yelped and flipped backwards, his jaw hanging and bleeding. Because of his pain He ran to the water and splashed his head in, whining. Rinza Scarlett sat up and watched him blankly, her eyes blinking dully every so often. Not many of the other wolves noticed the event, they were much too caught up in other affairs. Rinza turned and picked up the bone. She then went to seek out a private place to chew.
