Silas stood before his pack annoyed. They were talking, chattering, not paying attention. The wolves of Runedar were still getting used to their new leader. Silas sighed roughly, a growl in the back of his throat.
"SHUT YOUR FLAPPIN' MUZZLES!" He roared.
Everyone stopped and looked at their Alpha.
"Thank you."He sat properly and upright, and the pack looked to him attentively.
"First order of business," He said, keeping his eyes on all of them. "The Ronde is a community place, we must remember that we aren't the only ones who use it. It should be noted that those who leave feces and urine in improper places-"He looked at several guilty members."-will be punished. I've no patience for disgusting degenerates."Silas waited a moment for them to settle.
"Now, I expect to go on a hunt in several hours, when the prey venture out. Every able bodied member should report to me at that time. We must pull our own weight, for the good of the pack. Does everyone understand?" The assorted wolves nodded eagerly, and Silas knew they wished to be a good pack.
"Very well. Dismissed."
Silas was optimistic about Runedar. They were a good bunch, and a bit of polishing would have them in better shape. He knew also of the neighboring packs and how vulnerable his pack was. If they chose to invade Runedar at this time, the results would not be pretty. Silas hoped to remain out of focus of Astran and Akastran. For now anyway. He decided to spend an hour patroling the closest border before resting up for the hunt. He trotted on, his muscular body leaping over some of the terrain. He sniffed and looked locating his border marks. He hiked his leg up and refreshed them, then moved on to find others. He was suddenly aware of something following him. He listened for the shuffling sounds of the small feet and walked straight to the hiding place of a young pup. Silas stared down at the scrawny brown puppy as he rolled over in submission.
"Please, Alpha, can I go on the hunt?"
Silas was touched that even such a small member would want to help support Runedar.
"No young one. Your job is to stay strong, eat well, and grow up. Then you can join a hunt. Now, back to your mother."The pup sat up. "My job is to EAT? Alright!" He ran off excitedly calling, "Bye, Alpha!"
Silas Blanc turned back to marking. It was worth it, being Alpha, even if there were a few disgusting degenerates.
