[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz64/BLoobloo72/FlowerMiddle.png] A sigh pushed through her soft lips, her eyes wandering to the side. Completely and totally bored out of her mind, she was. Listening to Haru yak on and on about honor and responsibility and the importance of border control and blah blah blah, she had stopped listening hours ago. He didn’t seem to be taking the hint, unfortunately. Flower dragged her paws lazily, her head hanging, as they trudged along the border. Her senses were dulled, her mind focused on issues far off from the present. Not a care was given to Haru and his ramblings, nor the task at hand. She and Haru had split up to cover more ground as it was just the two of them today, and the day dragged on just as the dirt beneath her feet.
She was snapped back to attention when she caught movement in her peripheral vision. Her expression changed from confusion to recognition quickly as she connected the dots. A wolf, for once, was actually in the territory. Normally when Flower was forced along with her brother on patrols nothing interesting ever happened until today. Shock was palpable on Flower’s face however as Haru sheepishly approached the small young female. This was not typical; she would expect her brother to be on edge and over-reacting as per usual. This was very, very abnormal for him. She frowned, thoughts of mischief and curiosity glazing over her thoughts. Slowly she backed away some, lowering her head. She wanted to watch everything unfold; see what naughty things Haru was up to. A grimace crossed her lips as the female pranced up, clearly overjoyed at the sight of the burly male, approaching him with such adornment in her body language. That was how she used to greet her brother when he would return home from training.
”Haru!” The word rolled off the sandy wolf’s tongue with ease, as though she had uttered the syllables many times over. ”Hello. I, uh… didn’t think you’d be back so soon,”Flower’s eyes flickered to her brother. Obviously he wanted to conceal his little friend, and her presence wasn’t exactly appreciated at this time. A smirk tugged at Flower’s lips at the circumstance. ”I came as soon as I could! I couldn’t think of anything else but being with you again! I just so hap-hap-happy to see you! Now we can play again.” Cold air rushed from Flower’s gaping jaws. This was certainly shocking, and she was both appalled and pleased – finally she had leverage against her brother. Whether this female was simply a play-thing or someone more dear to him, he would not want word slipping.
”We could play hide and seek! Or tag, tag is always fun. Oh, I do know another new game! It’s called… uhh. It’s called… It’s called… Oh, I can’t remember. But it’s like tag, only when you get touched, you freeze. Freeze tag! That’s it! You want to play? Oh, it’s funnn… you’ll like it!”
From where she stood, on an uneven mound of dirt and stones slightly beyond the meadow that the two interacted in, her view was limited. Her position offered concealment, but with the sacrifice of view and audio perception. And so, she carelessly made her way down the mound closer to the lush grass ahead. It wouldn’t matter if Haru saw her or not, she had witnessed enough to blackmail him for months. Gradually she approached, watching intently as the female shoved her face towards his, his discomfort visible as he stepped back. The she-wolf pranced about, bowing playfully, nipping his shoulder, her tongue lolling out. ”Are you seri—“ Haru was cut short as the stranger thrust herself into his chest. Flower stopped short, unsure of how to take in the embrace. Haru was rigid and the affection seemed hardly mutual, but it must have meant a lot to the sandy female as she pressed her tongue along the length of his face before bounding backwards again. The stranger was awfully rambunctious and playful – not Haru’s type, if he had one, and she was far too young as well, so romance was a questionable possibility. ”Something wrong Haru?” Haru’s face was void of expression, his eyes locked on Flower. He gave the young wolf a culpable look, obviously aware of the danger the situation presented. ”Flower,” She smirked some, stepping towards them again, shortening the distance. She would appear quite snarky, but that wasn’t uncommon. She knew she had him cornered like the prey he hunted so many times.
Suddenly, the small female turned and dashed away quicker than Flower would have expected. She was disappointed somewhat, as she had been so intent on smirking at her brother that she hadn’t even bothered to glance at the younger wolf. And now she had disappeared completely. She pulled her eyes casually away from where the female had run off to, and set them upon Haru’s. She raised one eyebrow expectantly, the words she needed to hear were not her own. He had a lot of explaining to do.

She was smiling.
Flower was smiling!
Haru had always known that Flower held a grudge against him for distancing himself from her as he grew; but this was too risky, too daring, too mean and too devious; Flower did not have those characteristics in her... Or at least that was what he believed until seeing the look in her eye. He felt a twisting in his stomach that warned him of his impending doom.
Haru was stuck between a rock and a hard decision.
Perhaps he could run away? No, that'd only make him seem more suspicious and add to the stress of the situation. Besides, where would he go?
He could try ratting Kovarai out as a delusional intruder- she could definitely pass for that. And yet... Haru knew he'd feel guilty afterwards. Besides, this wasn't simply about him; the Suki and the Runedar packs were allies; passing one another's tolerate lines could jeapordize that.
He could try to talk it out with her! Though many things could go wrong in that. She could still even see this as a harmless interaction with a Runedarian, speaking with her could change that perception! "Though", he supposed, "Kovarai's one-sided affection probably already did."
The little pup was infuriating! Why couldn't she have just stayed where she was supposed to!? Haru bristled slightly at the thought of her carelessness.... His carelessness. The gray male sighed, he was at fault just as much as she, no doubt Flower realized that.
Haru took a deep breath.
"All right, Flower. Let's get this over with. I obviously don't want Mother or Father to know of this, so how about we strike up a deal? Swear on the blood that runs within the Holy Springs that you won't tell anybody and I'll do something for you, in return." Haru just prayed that his sister wouldn't request for more information on the situation.

Flower knew she had Haru practically on his back and at her mercy. There was no escaping; he would be forced to comply to whatever she proposed… This was just too great.
”All right, Flower. Let’s get this over with. I obviously don’t want Mother or Father to know of this, so how about we strike up a deal? Swear on the blood that runs within the Holy Springs that you won’t tell anybody and I’ll do something for you, in return.” Haru kept his voice calm, face pallid, like the true negotiator their father had raised him to be. Oh, but Flower knew she could get anything she wanted, fair deal or not, and she fully intended to suck every drop of power that she could out of this. Finally she had leverage over her parents’ prized child.
”I think you can guess exactly what I want,” She started with a coy smile. ”Complete freedom, no borders… I want to be able to come and go as I please, where I want and when I want. And you’re going to help me accomplish that.” She giggled, practically able to taste his disdain. Haru needed to learn how to live a little, to rebel some instead of striving so hard to be Alpha’s shining star.
”We’re going to have these ‘scouting trips’ a lot more often, dearest brother. You can do all the work, as always, while I run off and do as I please… and you’re going to cover for me. I don’t care if Xerque himself asks you where I am, you’re going to put on your best pokerface and tell them I’m helping you secure the border and we split up to conserve time. Or that we got hungry and I went off to fetch a hare. I don’t really care what excuse you make up, as long as they don’t get suspicious. “I’ll come back whenever I feel like it so you might be out for a while. If you really have to head back then I’ll be "off practicing my hunting/tracking/marking skills" or whatever Father used to send you off on your own to do. Finally, when we return and Mother or Father questions you on my new-found responsibility you are going to speak as highly of me as you can fathom, whether it pains you or not. “Oh, and one more thing. The moment word slips that it’s all a scam, I guarantee every pair of ears in Sukri territory is going to know of the fling you’re having with some pup from Runedar. I don’t know what you two actually have going on and I don’t really care to, but I’ve been exaggerating since birth and I don’t mind exercising that skill in a little fable about your ‘unspeakable act’,” Flower hardly had to intensify her tone to make the threat as chilling and legitimate as it was. Haru was well aware of the dreadful talent that resided within Flower in regards to lying and manipulating words. And considering how bad the situation already looked, she’d have to do very little twisting to make it look even worse.
”So… Any objections or modifications or can we just seal the deal and get on with it?”

((OOC: I'll code later.))
”Complete freedom, no borders… I want to be able to come and go as I please, where I want and when I want. And you’re going to help me accomplish that.” Flower was awfully giddy as she said this, a clue to just how long she'd been waiting for this sort of opportunity.
”We’re going to have these ‘scouting trips’ a lot more often, dearest brother." Haru flinched at the mocking endearment. He felt then, a sense of betrayal and it made him rethink his perspective on Flower; she really could be a bitch.
"You can do all the work, as always, while I run off and do as I please… and you’re going to cover for me." The repugnant offer made him curse his ungainly decision to meet Kovarai again, galling Haru in just how much shit he'd gotten himself into by doing so.
She was rambling a bit, and Haru interpreted that as a sign of nervousness towards their parents. He took note of this as well as the unsuited tone of authority making itself clear in her words. She said no "I would like it if you could," simply "You will." He was given a moment ample enough to allow him to bristle and show his irritation at this; if Flower had noticed, she gave it no heed.
She continued on, forcing a schedule into the mix that had no given beginning and no given end. She threw in that he was to 'speak highly of her, whether it pained him or not'. It was clear that all she was focused on was getting independence and isolation from her pack, and even unintentional admiration for such from their parents. Haru inwardly scoffed at this characteristic sign of teenage rebellion, for it should have no place in an adult and meant only immaturity. If Flower was to have the independence she wanted, she would have to earn at least a fraction of it. - Haru had no desire to compliment the undeserving.
“Oh, and one more thing." Her coy voice interrupted his thoughts. "The moment word slips that it’s all a scam, I guarantee every pair of ears in Sukri territory is going to know of the fling you’re having with some pup from Runedar. I don’t know what you two actually have going on and I don’t really care to, but I’ve been exaggerating since birth and I don’t mind exercising that skill in a little fable about your ‘unspeakable act’... So, any objections or modifications or can we just seal the deal and get on with it?”
Haru blinked as his ears cowered against his skull, his eyes flashed disbelief before he straightened himself up, shaking out the fur at his neck and raising his chin. He feigned an undaunted stature to her recent words and gave a resolute flick of his ears to tear them back up from the comfort of his skull, giving him an alert and intelligent look, however false it may be.
Haru saw Flower's confidence flicker just enough to display a dangerous or threatened look, as if to say that he should stop whatever mighty act he was wearing and to heed her wishes. This served only to fuel Haru's anger towards her expressions of dominance, which he soon countered with his own.
"I propose a n-negotation!" Haru cursed his feckless slip of tongue as his sister scoffed, knowing that it aided her ongoing belief that she had the upper hand. He felt himself bristle in frustration as he noticed her sudden gain in height and the larger distance from the ground to her high tail. Flower was flaunting physically now and humiliating him in his situation. She probably believed that he was in no state to negotiate, but if this was going to be done, Haru would make sure it would be done justly.
"First off all," he started in an enunciation, making sure to manifest his canines to demand both attention and respect from his younger. "I will have you know that your terms are ridiculous and impossible to abide by." He cast his eyes to the tree branches, conjuring up ways to go about making this a fair deal.
"We both know that father isn't feeling well, and that he's been really anxious lately, right?" He didn't wait for her to nod; they were both well aware about their father's current mental condition. "Typically, a full scouting takes around three hours since we own a large territory," Haru began to muse to himself, face molding into an expressive one of concentration. "If you want a lot of free time..." He trailed off, leaving an empty and curious silence before snapping his eyes up to meet Flower's. "We can leave at dawn so you'll have around three hours to roam, but we'll have a place where we meet after that. We have to return to the dens at least two times a day to avoid too much suspicion, and we should always arrive together..." Haru stopped, realizing that he was rambling off the obvious and losing his sister's attention.
"Leave at dawn - return by midday. Leave again afternoon and return just before evening." Haru finished with an almost proud smile at his scheduling, believing this to be a fair enough compromise between Flower's desires and their pack's needs. As for lying to his parents... it wouldn't be lying; rather, it would be playing with the truth a bit. Kovarai supported play, right? And it was an essential part in a pack's life! A little wandering around never hurt anyone... "Do you agree?" He asked with trepidation.
((OOC: For the love of me, I couldn't write the negotiation well if my life depended on it.))

The crusty mop that was Kovarai inched down the slope, out of sight from the rest of the pack. She had learned how to keep from being noticed, how to slip under their radars. Her coat was no longer white anyway, and no one could recognize her if they weren't trying. If anyone asked, Solex would say he'd seen her not long ago, and the level of suspicion would be much lower. She crept along the base of the hill, then began to trot quietly. Kovarai could not resist returning to the current holder of her interest. She had become quite infatuated with Haru, and the risk made the meetings all the more desirable. She was curious about what the mysterious female meant for Haru. Kovarai had run away, so she didn't know. Perhaps she meant him no harm, perhaps they were friends. Or maybe she would snitch on him, like Solex. The young wolf felt far enough away from any others to begin running. She speedily dodged trees and through bushes, her mind focused on Haru. She crossed the border as a slower speed. Carefully, she made her way back to the little clearing. Once in sight of it, she stopped to observe what was now happening. Although she had not had the wisdom to do it intentionally, she was downwind of the two wolves who now occupied the space. She curiously waited to see where their conversation, which was in progress, would go. (ooc: first post in a while, so not the longest or the best...hope it's okay though.)

A smirked pried Flower’s soft lips as she stared down her older brother, enjoying this very rare moment in which she was the dominant one. Despite her title as heir to the alphas, she lacked the respect of most wolves in the pack which, to her, was unreasonable. She had manipulated her brother several times throughout their childhood, but as he grew wiser, the occurrences became more and more scarce.
She wasn’t surprised when he finally protested.
”I propose a n-negotiation!” Haru barked, visibly taken aback by his stutter. She couldn’t help but chuckle at his falter; such a typical thing for Haru to do. He came off strong, a young promising wolf who was trying too hard to be tough, but she knew him better than that.
”First of all, I will have you know that your terms are ridiculous and impossible to abide by.” Flower held back from scoffing but allowed her eyes to roll. Obviously her terms were over the top, that was the whole point. She had meant to trick Haru into thinking he was getting a better deal by proposing incredibly unfair terms initially, and then allowing him to bargain to something only slightly in her favor. His point only proved that her tactic was working.
”We both know that father isn’t feeling well, and that he’s been really anxious lately, right? Typically, a full scouting takes around three hours since we own a large territory. If you want a lot of free time… We can leave at dawn so you’ll have around three hours to roam, but we’ll have a place where we meet after that. We have to return to the dens at least two times a day to avoid too much suspicion, and we should always arrive together… Leave at dawn – return by midday. Leave again afternoon and return just before evening.” Haru finished, clearly very proud of his calculations. How stupid he looked, completely satisfied with the terms he just laid down despite the fact that they were greatly in Flower’s favor even still. She almost felt bad.
”Do you agree?” He asked with the sort of down-to-business tone she directly related to her father. She shrugged in a complying fashion. ”Well, you’re the gifted child.” She mocked him, only half-serious. Though she didn’t necessarily utter the words, she knew he was aware that she agreed.
Flower took in a deep breath, alerting herself of the nearby presence aside from herself and Haru. She hadn’t bothered to memorize the Runedar female’s scent, but she guessed perhaps the young wolf returned out of curiosity to see how her playmate or crush or whatever Haru was to her was doing. How cute. Flower lazily drifted her eyes from the general area of the scent back to her brother. ”Well, three’s company and I wouldn’t want to intrude, so I’m just gonna head back to the dens… We can figure out all the details later,”
Flower spoke in a sasrcastic tone, grinning up at the grey wolf who looked back with great dismay. Pleased with herself, the feminine figure turned on heel, swished her tail in the indecent manner that had always bothered Haru, and trotted off at a steady, nonchalant pace.
((OOC:: Sorry for the powerplaying in here, haha. If it’s too much I’ll modify the post :L ))

Solex got up from his nap and stretched. He yawned, his tongue curling up then flattening out. The sun had been nice today. The water wouldn't ice enough to cause problems for now. He was glad Silas was giving him more important tasks lately. Perhaps his Father would soon find him worthy of leadership. Hopefully Beta leadership. He suddenly remembered the other task the alpha had charged him with: the education and monitoring of Kovarai. He glanced around the edges of the Ronde. She had been rolling in the mud he recalled. She was a mess. He didn't see any Kovarai, but he saw a brown wolf, slinking off down the hill. Suspicious, Solex softly went to peer down after it. It was small, female, and crusty. Kovarai. That little FOOL! What was she thinking? Didn't she have enough trouble, did she have to go looking for more? He sighed, and silently followed. He was much more skilled at navigating the forest than her, she would never detect him. He hated having to rat her out or get her in trouble again, but the young pup just wouldn't learn! The only way she would learn her lesson was to get it beaten into her apparently. Solex liked Kovarai, very much. She added color to the pack, and her devotion to acquire his attentions were, though very annoying, adorable. But that was beside the point. He didn't want her to be punished again...it made his heart sink. But the only way to set the little minx straight, was for her to get caught. She was endangering the pack and herself, and pack loyalty came before any affection Solex might have. Solex froze when he saw that Kovarai had stopped. She was . . . Hiding. Or attempting to. Solex scented two others. Sukrians, he was sure. He could not quite see up ahead up Kovarai, but he heard voices. He did not know what they were saying. He continued to eye Kovarai, eager to grab her and call her caught. He readied himself to do so if Kovarai came close. But for now, he continued to watch her to see what she would do next.

"Well, you're the gifted child," Flower said simply. Haru raised his brow, eyeing her suspiciously.
"You... agree then,"
|
[/b] he tested, still disbelieving. "You're ... not arguing."[/b] His left ear flicked back uncertainly with his tail languished and his eyes thoughtful. When a moment passed by and it seemed appropriate for Flower not to have to answer but merely grin to clinch the deal, Haru dejected his nervousness and decided that the motive behind her agreement was best left alone. And alone it was left; the silence was broken with Flower's great inhale, a noise that sharply reclaimed Haru's attention and made him snap his ears forth just in time to catch a rustling not far away. When he attempted to divert his focus to it, Flower spoke again, seeming to pull at any string of control she may have with her arrogantly riddled words. Whatever she did, it worked, and with an exit aired with promiscuity she left the clearing debauched of its chastity; abandoning an irate Haru. Haru didn't have time to dwell on his sister's display, however, as his eyes soon stole back to the bushes, where they widened briefly, then darkened into a glower that hit bluntly into his target. Kovarai. Haru parted his jaws just slightly, as if to say something, but closed them when a gruff noise escaped. He reprimanded his anger, his mind having defended Kovarai under the claim of youth and stupidity that came with it. "She doesn't know better," it said, and he agreed with only little hesitation. With a mental sigh, Haru turned his full body towards her and raised his tail and head with both dominance and intent of intimidation. His ears stood erect upon his head and he allowed himself a ghost of a snarl. Feeling that his message didn't make itself completely clear to the thick-headed pup, he opted to add a firm, slow movement of his head from side to side. And with that, Haru turned and walked back towards home, making sure to rub his body against the scraggly, rough bark and leave his gray hairs within its ducts, showing to the world and to Kovarai's face that this was Sukrian land, and that she was no longer welcome in it.
